Mary – I just wanted to say again that I thought your multigenre project turned out great! Like I said…this was a lot of work, but it turned out to be valuable on both a personal level, and in terms of what we learned and what can be done with it in the classroom. Of course, I felt a connection to your project…that Norwegian kindred spirit…. I have always had such a strong connection with my heritage… It made me even more proud learning all that I did about the Norwegian sailors and what they went through in WWII as well… anyway it was wonderful hearing about your family and their journey… kudos…great job!

Mary I think that your concrete poem is really neat. I really like the way that you used the Is for your eyes. Very creative!

Mary your invition is so creative and inviting. I had never really thought about writing in that way, but it makes a lot of sense. I really like how you incorporate the senses into the writing as well. I also like that your students get to fill in the skeleton with statements and words about themselves. Neato!
